Program Success Story


San Diego Public Utilities Department – Public Utilities Company

Due to upcoming retirements, San Diego Public Utilities Department (PUD) was expecting to lose at least 20% of its workforce over a 3 year period. To help mitigate the loss of knowledge, they were seeking a Leadership Development Program that could help employees build skills and improve the culture.

Ziksana designed and delivered two Leadership Academies for both field and non-field workers at PUD. The academies were 7-8 weeks long and included a 1-day ACCELERATE module on Change Management, as well as other topics. According to the client, they chose to work with Ziksana because of our innovative and experiential approach, as well as our willingness to collaborate with the in-house team to design and deliver the program.

The PUD program was consistently rated by participants at a 4.8/5 level and led to significant behavioral changes in graduates. Alumni consistently referred and encouraged their colleagues and direct reports to apply for the next cohort. Some of the qualitative feedback we’ve received read:
